Coronavirus in Bulgaria: Daily cases rise to 2,588

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 2,588 from 16,179 tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on March 2.

1,223 were confirmed from PCR and 1,365 from antigen tests.

The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:

Blagoevgrad - 123; Bourgas - 274; Varna – 138; Veliko Turnovo – 66; Vidin – 9; Vratsa - 71; Gabrovo – 42; Dobrich - 18; Kardzhali - 18; Kyustendil - 84; Lovech - 30; Montana - 42; Pazardzhik - 44; Pernik - 37; Pleven – 138; Plovdiv - 194; Razgrad - 9; Rousse - 56; Silistra - 36; Sliven - 74; Smolyan – 39; Sofia district - 51; Sofia city – 645; Stara Zagora - 109; Targovishte – 9; Haskovo - 87; Shoumen - 105; Yambol - 40.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 249,626.

The active cases are 32,688.

Of the total, 4,777 patients are in hospitals, 414 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

  • 1,085 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 206,630;
  • 11,094 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccine, bringing the total to date to 223,539;
  • 117 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 10,308.
