Coronavirus in Bulgaria: Daily cases rise to 4,637; hospitalisations at record high
The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 4,637 from 19,497 tests, data published on the National Information Portal shows on March 16.
2,135 were confirmed from PCR and 2,502 from antigen tests.
The latest cases registered in the districts are as follows:
Blagoevgrad – 220; Bourgas - 449; Varna - 343; Veliko Turnovo – 126; Vidin – 17; Vratsa - 114; Gabrovo – 64; Dobrich - 73; Kardzhali - 47; Kyustendil - 84; Lovech - 40; Montana - 47; Pazardzhik - 62; Pernik - 50; Pleven – 174; Plovdiv - 362; Razgrad - 25; Rousse - 149; Silistra - 130; Sliven - 115; Smolyan – 64; Sofia district - 117; Sofia city – 1,116; Stara Zagora - 240; Targovishte - 15; Haskovo - 125; Shoumen – 175; Yambol - 94.
The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 283,194.
The active cases are 44,663.
Of the total, 7,269 patients are in hospitals, 577 of them being in intensive care.
During the past 24 hours:
- 1,877 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 227,059;
- 2,828 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccine, bringing the total to date to 341,707;
- 187 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 11,472.
