Coronavirus in Bulgaria: Daily cases spike to 4,828
The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 4,828 from 11,611 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on November 18.
This means that almost 42% of the tests were positive for the virus.
The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:
Blagoevgrad - 200; Bourgas - 282; Varna - 490; Veliko Turnovo - 71; Vidin – 5; Vratsa - 125; Gabrovo - 118; Dobrich - 73; Kardzhali - 21; Kyustendil - 117; Lovech - 54; Montana - 89; Pazardzhik - 117; Pernik - 101; Pleven - 147; Plovdiv - 525; Razgrad - 31; Rousse - 147; Silistra - 78; Sliven - 71; Smolyan - 3; Sofia district - 132; Sofia city – 1,301; Stara Zagora - 246; Targovishte - 30; Haskovo - 79; Shoumen - 103; Yambol - 72.
The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 106,598.
The active cases are 72,649.
Of the total, 5,463 patients are in hospitals, 303 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the 24-hour period are 1,219. The total recoveries are 31,536.
A total of 4,193 medical professionals have tested positive for the virus since the start of the epidemic. 182 new cases were registered overnight, including 54 doctors; 60 nurses; 29 healthcare assistants; 6 paramedics and 33 other medical staff.
131 Covid-19 related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, thus bringing the death toll to 2,413.
