Council of Ministers set a ceiling on the market revenues of electricity producers
The Council of Ministers has set the levels that serve for the calculation of the market revenue cap for electricity producers.
If they receive revenues above these values, producers owe contributions to the Electricity System Security Fund, which provides the necessary financial resources to cope with the effects of high energy prices.
- Kozloduy NPP will calculate its cap on market revenues at 180 BGN/MWh of electricity produced.
- For electricity producers from coal-fired condensing plants, this value is 350 BGN, increased by the 1.32 times the average monthly price per tonne of CO² emission allowances per MWh.
- For coal-fired electricity generators with added biomass fuel (solid or gaseous biomass fuels) and/or waste and/or petroleum products and/or a combination of these – BGN 350 increased by the 0.9 times the average monthly price per tonne of CO² emission allowances, per MWh.
- Renewable electricity generators without a premium offset contract will cap their market revenues at BGN 350 per MWh of electricity generated.
