According to information of one of the largest tour operators with a branch office in St. Petersburg, from the beginning of the year until now, the Russian tourists planning to have a holiday at the Bulgarian seaside have dropped in number and are by 150 people less in comparison with the same period in 2014.
Russian tourists may face 80% increase in the prices of holidays abroad, tour operators warn. Currently the vacation packages for early bookings cost by 50% more and prices are expected to go up as the peak of the summer season approaches.
Holiday prices have increased because the value of the Russian ruble dropped against the euro. The exchange rate as at 17th of March is 65 rubles to 1 euro.
