Paintings by great Bulgarian artists, at the background of which important meetings and talks were held, are on display in the gallery of the National Academy of Arts. The occasion is 140 years since the establishment of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Service. The exhibition starts on September 20 and is open until September 23.
Diplomacy and culture always go hand in hand because the creators are part of Bulgaria's positive identity. This is one of the reasons why the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a collection of over 3,000 works of art.
Ekaterina Zaharieva, Minister of Foreign Affairs: Two of the paintings are from my office. I really congratulate the authors for their very good selection because of the exceptionally rich fund the Ministry has.
Yavor Koynakov, State Institute of Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: It is very impressive how the Diplomatic Service over the years has adopted perhaps the most innovative, interesting names and promoted them.
In addition to presenting the country with their talent, some of the works in the exhibition are dedicated to important national topics.
Yavor Koynakov, State Institute of Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: It is very interesting that Balchik and Dobrudzha have become a constant theme for decades in Bulgarian art. One simple explanation - we remember the date of September 7th and the return of South Dobrudzha.
Tseno Todorov, Zlatyu Boyadzhiev, Dimitar Kirov, Svetlin Rusev are among the authors whose art is accompanied by diplomacy.
