First exit polls: Vassil Terziev wins in the mayoral runoff in Sofia

Vassil Terziev wins the mayor's seat in Sofia, according to the first exit polls of Gallup International at 7 pm and Alpha Research at 8 pm on november 5. According to the data of both polling agencies, Terziev leads by more than 5% over Vanya Grigorova, nominated by the local coalition "BSP for Bulgaria".

Terziev, nominated by “We Continue the Change and Democratic Bulgaria” alongside “Save Sofia”, came first with 50,8% of the vote, according to preliminary results by Gallup International.

The mayoral race in Blagoevgrad is extremely contested, according to the Gallup exit poll. The candidate of “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria”, Metodi Baikushev, leads by a little over one percent over the incumbent mayor Ilko Stoyanov. In Varna, too, an intrigue is emerging - again according to Gallup data, incumbent mayor Ivan Portnikh (GERB) is losing to “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” candidate Blagomir Kotsev.

Second round of voting in the local eelctions took place in 19 district cities in Bulgaria.

"Alpha Research":

Vassil Terziev (We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria - Save Sofia) 49.7%

Vanya Grigorova (BSP-led coalition) 43.8%

Do not support anyone - 6.5%
Turnout is 34.1%

BLAGOEVGRAD

Just over a percentage point is the difference between the two contenders in Blagoevgrad, according to Gallup data. So far, the candidate of WCC-DB Metodi Baikushev is leading over the incumbent mayor Ilko Stoyanov.

VARNA

In Varna, Blagomir Kotsev of WCC-DB come first by just over 4% ahead of the incumbent mayor Ivan Portnikh, according to Gallup data.

VELIKO TARNOVO

Daniel Panov of GERB comes first and wins the battle for Veliko Tarnovo, Yordan Terziyski of WCC-DB is second, according to Alpha Research.

PLOVDIV

Kostadin Dimitrov from GERB has more than 10% lead over Ivaylo Staribratov from WCC-DB and wins in Plovdiv, according to the Gallup exit poll.

ROUSSE

The BSP candidate Pencho Milkov wins in Rousse, according to the exit poll data of Alpha Research.

HASKOVO

GERB candidate Stanislav Dechev wins in Haskovo against independent candidate Nikolai Stavrev, again according to Alpha Research
