First influenza case for this season reported

The first case of influenza for the 2024-2025 season has been confirmed at the National Reference Laboratory for Influenza and Acute Respiratory Diseases at the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, the centre said on its website on October 25.

The influenza virus is B/Victoria and was detected in a respiratory sample sent yesterday from the Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment of Infectious Diseases "Prof. Ivan Kirov".
