First Israeli tourists for 2021 season arrived at Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast

The first 125 Israeli tourists for the 2021 season arrived at the airport in Bulgaria’s coastal city of Varna on April 23. They will be accommodated in hotels in the Golden Sands resort. Most of those who arrived today have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Israeli tourists wonder why Bulgaria requires a negative PCR test, given that 5 million people in Israel have already been vaccinated against COVID-19, and the incidence is only 0.2%.

"There were many tourists who once made a reservation for Bulgaria, when the date approaches, they change it with destinations where this additional test is not required. Each of them who came today will have to do three PCRs," explained the honorary Consul of Israel in Bourgas Orlin Mandov.

The Israeli tourists who arrived in Varna said they were not worried.

Another plane with Israeli tourists is expected to land at Varna Airport on Saturday. There will be flights on Thursdays and Saturdays. The first Israeli tourists in Bourgas were scheduled to arrive on May 6, but the flight was postponed to May 13.
