First sitting of Bulgaria’s newly-elected 51st Parliament
The MPs of the newly-elected 51st Parliament took an oath in office on November 11. A total of 234 MPs attended the inaugural sitting.
According to the Constitution, the new Parliament's first sitting was opened by the oldest attending MP, who is Silvi Kirilov from "There Is Such a People" party.
The sitting was also attended by President Rumen Radev, Vice President Iliana Iotova, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Patriarch Daniil, caretaker cabinet members, representatives of the judiciary, diplomats, etc.
According to the Constitution, the MPs must elect Parliament’s Speaker and deputy Speakers at the inaugural sitting.
