Flu epidemic declared in Shumen
A flu epidemic has been declared in Shumen. This was done by an order issued by the Director of the Regional Health Inspectorate after an analysis of the incidence of the disease.
The anti-epidemic measures come into force tomorrow, January 12, and will be in force until January 18. From 13 to 18 January, schools will be temporarily closed.
In kindergartens, entry control will be intensified and sick children will be sent back home. Staff who have symptoms will not be allowed to work, and there will be additional disinfection and ventilation in the buildings.
Anti-epidemic measures include temporarily stopping scheduled consultations for healthy pregnant women and children; stopping preventive check-ups and immunizations; banning hospital visits; and restricting mass events.
