Foreign Minister Gabriel: Bulgaria is ready for Schengen, we are waiting for support from our European partners

Bulgaria has met all the technical criteria to join Schengen and we expect the support of our European partners by the end of this year, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mariya Gabriel, said at a joint briefing with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlić-Radman, on September 11.

This is the first official visit to Bulgaria by a foreign minister since the formation of the new Bulgarian government.

Within the framework of the Croatian minister's visit to Bulgaria, meetings are scheduled with the head of state Rumen Radev, Prime Minister, Acad. Nikolai Denkov, and the Speaker of Bulgaria’s Parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov.
