Four Bulgarians will take part in the 14th day of the Tokyo Olympic Games.
In the early hours on August 5, around 3.10 am Bulgarian time, the silver medalist of the Rio Games - Mirela Demireva, will participate in stream "B" of the qualifications in the high jump, as the norm for entering the final of the discipline is 195 cm or the best 12 athletes.
At 5.00 in the morning Georgi Vangelov will fight in a rematch with the Colombian Oscar Eduardo Tigreros Urbano (Colombia) and if successful he will appear on the mat in Tokyo after 12.15 in the battle for the bronze medal in the category up to 57 kg freestyle against Nurislam Sanaev from Kazakhstan.
After 11.00, Ivet Goranova will make her debut for Bulgaria at the Olympic karate kumite tournament in the category up to 55 kg. The best Bulgarian karate player is in a group with the Turkish Serak Ozcelik, Tsuyun Wen from Chinese Taipei and the Iranian Sara Bahmanyar, and for the semifinals, which guarantee at least a bronze medal, the first two athletes in the group will qualify. The final of the race is on the same day and starts at 2.50 pm Bulgarian time.
After 12.15 pm, Evelina Nikolova, will fight for the bronze medal in the category up to 57 kg against the winner of the repechages.
