GERB-UDF leader Boyko Borissov: if a regular government is formed, it will exclude MRF-New Beginning, Vazrazhdane, ARF, and MECh
There are formulas that can be used to form a regular government, GERB-UDF leader Boyko Borissov said at a meeting with the party leadership, broadcast live on his Facebook account on November 12. The footage shows that the meeting with Borissov was attended by Raya Nazaryan, Rosen Zhelyazkov, Tomislav Donchev, Denitsa Sacheva, Vladislav Goranov, Daniel Mitov, Yordanka Fandakova, Temenuzhka Petkova, Kostadin Angelov and Tsvetomir Paunov.
I can sign that we will work, and if a government is formed, it will be without "MRF-New Beginning", "Vazrazhdane", "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" and Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) party, he said and clarified that excluding these formations from a possible government does not mean that GERB-UDF does not respect them, but there should be a clear majority in Parliament. Send this specifically to "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB).
Borissov said GERB proposes him for Prime Minister because “this is the only way to have a government with a clear political responsibility.” He noted he will resist external interference in the government. “What we agree about is what we will do,” he said.
Until consensus is reached on the new government, the Speaker of Parliament should be from GERB, the party which won the elections, but if a government majority emerges, the position of Parliament Speaker will become negotiable, Borissov said.
In the meantime, for the National Assembly to start, a regular Speaker must be elected," he said.
"There are other majorities that I see. Today, colleagues from WCC-DB are meeting with other political forces, talking," GERB-UDF leader said.
He explained that they have left their talks with WCC-DB for a later stage, as they have set many red lines and many of the conditions in them GERB-UDF cannot agree with.
Tomorrow GERB-UDF will start negotiations first with "BSP - United Left" and "There is Such a People".
