GPs will issue referrals for free-of-charge antigen tests for COVID-19
GPs will be able to issue referrals for free-of-charge antigen tests for COVID-19 from the middle of next week, Ministry of Health announced on August 12.
The ministry said that at present, free-of-charge coronavirus tests are done in health inspectorates' offices across the country.
About 900,000 tests have been made available for this purpose. The caretaker health minister said his main priority would be to prepare the system for a possible new wave of the virus.
Caretaker health minister, Assen Medzhidiev will personally issue the orders to change the anti-epidemic measures. However, the decisions will be taken by an expert council that will meet once a week.
It will also discuss the possible reduction of the period of quarantine for contacts of people with confirmed Covid-19 infection and the isolation period of those infected with coronavirus.
