Greece wildfire near the border has been contained on Bulgarian side (update)

After 5 days of wildfires raging in Greece near the border with Bulgaria, the fire today, July 24, advanced to the territory of our country.

Strong winds from the south have flared up the fire, which reached the border with Bulgaria. Firefighters are managing to contain it for the time being.

Thanks to the efforts of firefighters, military, forest officials and many volunteers the fire did not spread into the territory of our cuntry. There is no danger of the fire reaching the settlements.

It rained in an area close to the fire. That was the great hope of the firefighters.

Is there a risk of the wildfire in Greece spreading into Bulgaria?
