Green transport will be a top priority of the new Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeykov
The introduction of green transport will be among my top priorities, said the new Minister of Transport and Communications Eng. Georgi Gvozdeykov at the ceremony of acceptance of the governance from the outgoing caretaker minister, Hristo Alexiev, on June 6th. Work on plan for rehabilitation of Bulgarian Post and the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan projects are the other important tasks for the new team.
Georgi Gvozdeykov stressed that it is important to quickly resolve the issues with the contested orders for the supply of new rolling stock for the railway transport. "What has been done will be continued and built upon. The most important thing is as quickly as possible to show results that are important for people," he said.
The outgoing caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Alexiev said that it was also important for him to continue the work on the rehabilitation of Bulgarian Post, the implementation of the projects under the Operational Programme Transport and Transport Infrastructure, the Recovery and Resilience Plan, as well as the emergency medical assistance by air.
"We have an excellent opportunity for geopolitical positioning in the region," added Hristo Alexiev. In this regard, we have launched a number of projects, as well as intensified work on the Middle Corridor, officially known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), between Asia and Europe, he added.
