Hail and windstorm caused serious damages in the regions of Svishtov and Rousse in Northern Bulgaria on 17th of May. The storm uprooted trees, broke power lines, destroyed crops and caused floodings to roads and properties. The traffic of trains along the route Levski - Svishtov has been temporarily suspended, due to а loose embankment under the rails in the area of the railway station in the village of Morava.
The most significant damage was caused in the villages of Morava and Delianovtsi. Firefighters worked all day to remove fallen trees on the roofs of houses. Rescue teams cleared the way to the Morava village from muddy deposits. The storm accompanied by hail has destroyed the fruit trees and the vegetables in the gardens. Teams of the power distribution company are working to restore services after the power outages.
