Housing prices in Bulgaria increased by over 10% in fourth quarter of 2023
The housing prices increased by 1.2% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter. The highest increase was recorded in Stara Zagora (+8.2%), followed by Burgas (+6.3%) and Varna (+1.7%). A decrease was registered in Plovdiv (-0.5%) and Sofia (-0.1%).
In the fourth quarter of 2023, compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, housing prices rose by 10.1%.
Detailed data are published on the National Statistical Institute (NSI) website under the heading "Housing price statistics".
The NSI report shows that house prices in the country increased by 2.7% in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter. The largest increase was registered in Russe (+8.6%), followed by Burgas (+4%) and Sofia (+3.8%). Decreases were registered in Plovdiv (-2.9%) and Stara Zagora (-2.3%). In the third quarter of 2023, housing prices in the country increased by 9.2% compared to the third quarter of 2022.
In the second quarter of last year, on the basis of 3 quarters, housing prices increased by 4.3% and by 10.7% compared to the second quarter of 2022.
The NSI report shows that in the first quarter of 2023, housing prices in the country saw a 1.6% increase compared to the previous quarter and 9.5% year-on-year.
