India’s President Ram Nath Kovind and his delegation arrived on a visit to Bulgaria on 5th of September at the invitation of Bulgaria’s Head of State, Rumen Radev. This is first visit of an Indian President in Bulgaria for the past 15 years. The delegation led by India's head of state also includes 72 businessmen.
He was officially welcomed at Alexander Nevski Square in Sofia, followed by talks with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev. During these four-hour meetings, the two talked about deepening cooperation between the two countries in several key areas - education, culture, economy, trade and tourism. Bilateral agreements and memoranda were also signed.
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said in his address that bilateral relations between India and Bulgaria were restored at the highest level and pointed out that Bulgaria played an extremely important role on the international stage.the two also discussed the possibility of a direct airline service between India and Bulgaria.
In his address, India’s President said that our bilateral relations are on a very solid basis and they need to be deepened.
He will deliver a lecture at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.It will be broadcast live on India’s television and is expected to be viewed by more than 800 million people.
