“Intelligent Music Project” will represent Bulgaria at Eurovision Song Contest 2022
"Intelligent Music Project" will represent Bulgaria at "Eurovision" 2022 in the Italian city of Turin. BNT again relies on the already proven as a successful formula for public-private partnership. Behind the project stands the businessman Dr. Milen Vrabevski, who accepts Eurovision as a national cause and wrote the music and lyrics of the song himself.
The group is led by Ronnie Romero, the current lead singer for the British rock band Rainbow.
"It is a song about our own development, about leaving the safe zone and following the impulses."
"Every year, Eurovision is the reason for the unification of the nation. In view of the emerging trend for the return of rock music, which I should celebrate on the European and world stage with our partners from BNT, we believe that this international, but basically Bulgarian project, working entirely for the name of Bulgaria in the world, will present our country more than successfully. The song we did now actually raises the question of the personal inner struggle of each of us with the outdated patterns of faith and behaviour that pull us back, " Dr. Milen Vrabevski said.
The "Intelligent Music" project has 10 years of experience, and real rock stars have participated in it. The six who will wave the Bulgarian flag on the stage of Eurovision song contest are Ronnie Romero, Stoyan Yankulov - Stundzhi, Biser Ivanov, Slavin Slavchev, Ivo Stefanov and Dimitar Sirakov.
"Today we return to the stage of undoubtedly the biggest music competition - the European Music Olympiad. "Eurovision" is the most watched show in terms of ratings and peoplemetry and its grand final is the biggest music event in all of Europe. I am proud and honoured to realise our participation for the second time this year with a public-private partnership, and I believe that from now on we will strengthen this partnership and this model and we will be able to make good music and compete in Eurovision on an equal footing with others," said Emil Koshlukov, director general of BNT.
Ronnie Romero did not miss to watch Eurovision with his child, now the honour to represent Bulgaria on the big stage is his.
"Although I was born on another continent, I have lived in other countries in Europe, but for three years since we have been working together, I feel Bulgaria and especially Sofia as my second home. And in fact I understand this competition - in my opinion "Eurovision" is not a matter of where you're from, which country you're from. It's a matter of presenting the feelings of a country," Ronnie Romeo said.
The video for the song is almost ready and BNT will be the first to air it. And for the promotion of the Bulgarian participation the group goes on tour in 5 big Bulgarian cities.
"We hope to put on a good performance", BNT director general Emil Koshlukov said.
