Joint operation against crime group involved in extortion takes place in Bourgas

The Specialised Prosecutor's Office and the Directorate for combating Organised Crime on October 14 are conducting actions to investigate an organised crime group involved in extortion, including through threats and physical violence, operating on the territory of Bourgas and Bourgas region.

So far, 40 searches of premises, cars and personal searches have been carried out. A total of 10 persons were detained under the Ministry of Interior Act for up to 24 hours. It is yet to be determined how many of them will be prosecuted.

Interviews with witnesses continue, including victims of the group's criminal activity.
