Lazar Lazarov will serve in the role of Prime Minister while Galab Donev is absent for health reasons

Caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev is not planning any public appearances until the end of the week for health reasons, the government press office said on February 16.

For the period from 16 to 19 February 2023 inclusive, the duties of the Prime Minister will be performed by aretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Lazar Lazarov.

Later, the Council of Ministers announced that the Prime Minister had undergone knee surgery, performed successfully by Associate Professor Dr. Antoni Georgiev at the SofiaMed University Hospital. The expectations are for a quick and full recovery of Prime Minister Donev within a few days, the government press office said.
