Leader of GERB opposition, Boyko Borissov, spoke with Ukraine’s former President Petro Poroshenko
Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko asked for help from Bulgaria in a video call with oposition GERB leader Boyko Borissov.
Poroshenko said he was staying on as a battalion commander in Ukraine because of the serious situation. Borissov spoke in favour of supporting Ukraine and criticised the Bulgarian government.
"We need more weapons, ammunition, air defence missiles. We need them now, not in two weeks or three weeks. This is the only tool to make Russia weak and help Ukraine survive," Poroshenko said.
"We have a very hesitant government that doesn't know what it wants and that's why the party I lead, even in opposition, is very firm on immediate support for Ukraine. And if the topic is raised in Parliament, the party will support it 100% because now it is war. This has to be stopped with credible defence," Borissov responded.
