Minimum wage in Bulgaria will rise to BGN 710 as of April 1
The minimum wage in Bulgaria will reach BGN 710 from 1 April.
The measure was approved at an extraordinary meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation on March 22.
According to the trade unions, the 10% increase has already been “eaten up” by the inflation, so they are demanding another increase in July.
The Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria is against the April increase and continues to insist on the elaboration of a mechanism to determine the minimum wage by economic activity.
The Bulgarian Industrial Association also abstained from supporting the proposal.
The tripartite council also approved the extension of the 60/40 job retention scheme for businesses until June.
