Minister of Interior: There are suspects for the assassination attempt against the Prosecutor General

There are suspects in the assassination attempt against the Prosecutor General, caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Ivan Demerdzhiev, told a briefing at the Council of Ministers, where caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev is meeting with representatives of the security services on May 2. However, he refused to give details.
It is obvious that the level of security of the vehicles and technical means used by National Service for Protection should be enhanced, because in this case what proved to be protective was the armour plating on the vehicle used by the prosecutor general, the minister said.
"This is the vehicle with the best protection currently available to the National Service for Protection. This good protection resulted in this particular explosive device not being able to penetrate the armour of the vehicle and get inside where the passengers were. It is indisputable that the National Service for Protection should be equipped with both reliable and modern vehicles (the last one currently in use has been at the disposal of the state since 2012, which is absolutely unacceptable) and modern technical means to ensure the security of the protected persons," Ivan Demerdzhiev stressed.
Demerdzhiev said that by order of the caretaker Prime Minister, a working group is being formed with the tasks to bring together all the information of the security services in order to get to the perpetrators and possibly the instigators behind yesterday's blast and to avoid similar acts in the future targeting any representative of the state.
He said everything necessary would be done to identify and punish the perpetrators of this act.
