"The old ones were also synthesized and were charged again for threatening to kill. They are even more mindless than the first two. We are being kept in the dark as regards all the evidence so far," Nikolaev's lawyer Petko Kanev said.
Later, Stara Zagora District Prosecutor's Office sent a press release about the new charges:
Today, August 4, 2023, the District Prosecutor's Office-Stara Zagora brought additional charges against G.G., 26, in the pre-trial proceedings for threats of murder against 18-year-old D.M. - a crime under Article 144 par. 3 in par. 1 in Art. 1 of the Criminal Code. The supervising prosecutor has refined the charges in the pre-trial proceedings under the above-mentioned text after an analysis of additional evidence collected - questioning of witnesses.
Today, at 10.30 a.m., before his procedural representatives, G.G. was personally charged for the fact that in the period from the beginning of April 2023 to 25 June, 2023, in the city of Stara Zagora, in the conditions of a continuing offence, he threatened to kill D.M., and this threat was possible to arouse a well-founded fear that the threat may be fulfilled. According to the new evidence gathered, the threats were made in person to the victim girl and via a mobile app, and contained aggressive threats of harm.
So far, it has been established that G.G. threatened D.M. via a mobile application on two occasions, on 24 and 25 June 2023, for which he was charged. According to the new evidence, G.G. threatened 18-year-old D.B., in person and via mobile app, four more times from April 2023 to 25 June 2023, for which he was additionally charged in the ongoing pre-trial proceedings for threatening to kill. This means that G.G. threatened to kill D.B. a total of six times.
At present, G.G. has been charged in two pre-trial proceedings for threatening to kill and for causing medium bodily harm to D.M.
In both cases, clear evidence has been collected that G.G. is the perpetrator of the acts. This evidence is based on all the procedural and investigative actions carried out so far - interviews of witnesses, appointed experts, inspections of the scene of the crime, seized material evidence and biological material, etc.
