The mortal remains of King Ferdinand were laid to rest in the family crypt of Vrana Palace in a ceremony in a close family circle in the morning on May 30.
The coffin was carried by members of the royal family and relatives, led by Princes Cyril and Constantine-Assen.
The procession, headed by Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, finished at the crypt of the palace, where after a prayer by the Staurophoric butler Nikolay Georgiev, president of the church board of the Metropolitanate of St. Nedelya, the body of the late king was placed in specially made for the occasion sarcophagus of dark red marble.
