MP Hassan Ademov from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms party has tested positive for coronavirus, the Speaker of Bulgaria’s Parliament, Tsveta Karayancheva, told an extraordinary press briefing at 23.30 on March 31.
As the Parliament was due to vote on the Budget 2020 update, after being informed of the case with Mr. Ademov, I immediately contacted the Head of the National Coronavirus Task Force, General Mutafchiyski, she said.
I was advised that all MPs should take a test. The test will take place at two hospitals tomorrow morning. On Thursday, all staff from the administration of the Parliament, who were in contact with Dr. Ademov will take a test, Karayancheva added.
There will be no meeting of the Committee on Budget and Finance tomorrow. The Speaker's Extraordinary Council will decide when the next session will be held, depending on the situation at the time, the Speaker of Parliament said.
