National COVID-19 portal stops functioning
Information on COVID-19 cases registered in Bulgaria will be published on a weekly basis
Information on COVID-19 cases registered in the country will now be published weekly. It will be available in the epidemic situation reports of the Ministry of Health and the National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (NCIPD).
As of 1 July, the National COVID-19 System will cease to function, as well as the Single Information Portal - coronavirus.bg.
Reporting of COVID-19 cases will be carried out according to the routine procedure of Regulation No. 21 on registration, notification and reporting of communicable diseases, applicable to the reporting of 66 other communicable diseases in the country.
On 5 May 2023, the World Health Organization declared an end to COVID-19 as a public health emergency. Subsequently, the requirement for certificates of immunization, as well as mandatory isolation and quarantine for persons with coronavirus infection and their contacts, was phased out in Bulgaria.
Details of laboratory confirmation and diagnosis of a person with coronavirus infection should also be recorded by medical professionals in the medical records of citizens in the national health information system.
