Nearly 8,000 refugees from Ukraine have sought help in Varna
Nearly 8,000 people who arrived from Ukraine have sought help from the Crisis Centre in the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna, the district governor, Blagomir Kotsev, said on March 8.
More than 3,000 are accommodated in hotels and private homes, 60% of them are children.
So far, those arriving have nowhere to stay. Some of them come only for 2-3 days and then leave. They prefer to rent their own accommodation in the area. But for this to happen, they first need to get a status from the Refugee Agency, which already has representatives in the Crisis Centre. And there is a great need for volunteers for all kinds of activities in the centre.
The District Governor of Varna has also said that there is currently a need for packaged food, including for pets.
