The missing Bulgarian climber, Boyan Petrov, was not found at Camp 3 under Shisha Pagnma in the Himalyas on 12th of May. Five people from the rescue team arrived at the Camp, but only objects from previous expeditions were found there. Today, the weather has finally allowed helicopters to participate in the rescue operation. According to information from the Bulgarian embassy in Beijing, two helicopters took off early in the morning, and the search for Boyan Petrov took place on different routes.
A shirt and old packs of food have been found at Camp 3, left from from previous years. Deyan Petkov, a coordinator of the expeditions of Boyan Petrov said that the helicopter crews had looked at all the points they were supposed to search, but saw nothing except the normal relief of the mountain.
The search continues tomorrow.
Kiril Petkov, climber, said that the route from Camp 3 to the summit remains for tomorrow. A very difficult path, he added. The helicopters will not fly tomorrow because only climbers can go beyond this height, but the helicopters will remain on standby and will only be deployed if something is seen, he said.
