NSI reports decline in inflation and GDP growth
The quarterly average total income per person in a household in the first quarter of 2023 is BGN 2,394 and increases by 19.3% compared to the same quarter of 2022.
In the structure of total income, income from wages and salaries has the highest relative share (53.6%), followed by income from pensions (35.8%) and self-employment (4.3%).
Quarterly total expenditure per person in a household averaged BGN 2,149 in the first quarter of 2023 and increased by 18.0% compared to the same quarter of 2022.
In the first quarter of 2023. GDP increases by 2.0% compared to the first quarter of the previous year and gross value added increases by 2.2%.
Final consumption registered a 2.8% increase, gross fixed capital formation increased by 5.2% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the first quarter of the previous year on a seasonally adjusted basis. Exports of goods and services increased by 3.0% and imports of goods and services decreased by 4.3%.
In the last month, there was an increase in the sectors:
- Clothing and footwear - an increase of 5.4%;
- miscellaneous goods and services - an increase of 1.0%;
- restaurants and hotels – an increase of 1.0%;
- home furnishings, household goods and services and ordinary housekeeping – an increase of 0.9%;
- alcoholic beverages and tobacco products – an increase of 0.8%;
- education – an increase by 0.5%;
- health – an increase of 0.2%;
- food and non-alcoholic beverages – an increase of 0.1%.
Decrease in prices of:
- entertainment and culture - decrease by 0.8%;
- communications - decrease by 0.5%;
- housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels - decrease by 0.2%.
The prices of goods and services in the Transport group remained at last month's level.
