One dead and two injured in shooting in Sofia (update)
A man was killed and two injured in a shooting in Sofia’s "Moderno predgradie" residential suburb in front of a pawn shop on July 4. According to BNT, the victim owed money to the owner of the office.
According to BNT sources, a 48-year-old man died on the spot in the shooting, a 22-year-old man was shot in the chest and legs, and another young man was shot in the thigh. Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
The report of the shooting outside the pawn shop was received at 2:59 p.m. There was a scuffle followed by the shooting. The murdered man was a criminal, he had 11 convictions for various types of crimes - theft and bodily harm, Interior Ministry Secretary General, Dimitar Kangaldjiev, said at a briefing.
Two persons were found in the pawnshop, as well as a corpse of a 48-year-old man and two who were taken away.
According to initial reports, the man was after he attacked the owners of the pawnbroker.
The shooters have been arrested. There were two weapons at the scene.
The owner of the pawnshop is in possession of a legal weapon. No police officers were involved in the incident.
There are no reports of people who fled the scene, all are in custody, the police added.
