Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on March 23 had a telephone conversation with Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister Leo Varadkar. The two discussed the situation with the spread of COVID-19 in Bulgaria and Ireland, as well as the challenges facing both countries as a result of the pandemic.

PM Borissov and the Irish Deputy PM expressed hope that in the near future the citizens of Europe will be able to return to their normal daily lives and will again be able to travel safely for tourism or business.

During the telephone conversation Boyko Borissov and Leo Varadkar focused on bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Ireland.

The two agreed that there is serious potential for the development of fruitful cooperation on topics from the European agenda and at bilateral level. PM Borissov highlighted the benefits of active high-level political dialogue in deepening the partnership between Bulgaria and Ireland.
