PM Kiril Petkov: Bulgaria-Greece gas link will be ready in June, Azeri gas will flow in September
The physical infrastructure is already in place, the hydraulic testing is being done now, this means that we have made good progress, which confirms that more has been done in the recent three months than in the last year, said Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, who inspected the construction of the Bulgaria-Greece gas interconnector in the area of the town of Komotini, Greece on March 21.
According to the Prime Minister, the completion of this project is very important because when we talk about diversification, it means lower gas prices, lower heating prices next winter, less pressure on prices. Petkov said that he has passed along the entire route and knows every metre of it. All the pipes have been laid, the cables that run the route need to be put in, he said.
All the pipes are in, if it is completed by the end of June, Azeri gas will be flowing in September, he said.
