Police officers were injured as a result of aggressive actions during the protest against the Bulgarian Football Union on November 16.
The Ministry of Interior is taking measures to de-escalate the tensions that arose during the protests in the capital. Water cannon was also used to control the situation. As a result of aggressive actions there were injured police officers. There were also injuries among the protesters after clashes between the groups. Material damage was also caused to motor vehicles.
There have been arrests. The appeal to football supporters is to express their views peacefully to avoid further escalation.
In view of the ongoing protests, Sofia police advises residents and visitors to the capital to avoid, if possible, passing in the area of the national stadium and the intersection at Blvd. "Vasil Levski" and ul. "Gen. Gurko". In the sections where protest actions are taking place, public transport traffic is temporarily suspended.
