President appointed Zhivko Kotsev to the post of Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior
Head of State, Rumen Radev, on September 8 signed a decree to dismiss Chief Commissioner Petar Todorov from the post of Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior.
By another decree, the President appointed Chief Commissioner Zhivko Kotsev to the post.
On 23 August, it became known that Minister of Interior, Kalin Stoyanov, had sent a reasoned request to the President for replacement of the Chief Secretary.
The same day, in the Council of Ministers, Stoyanov said that he considers Petar Todorov responsible for the lack of organisation and control over some activities in the Ministry of Interior. President Rumen Radev described the motives for the proposal to remove Chief Commissioner Petar Todorov from the post of MoI’s Chief Secretary as entirely political.
