Protests in Bulgaria: The man on hunger strike taken to hospital

Vladimir Genov, 58, who went on hunger strike 5 day ago, felt bad and was taken to ER Wednesday afternoon. Genov has been refusing food and water for six days after he chosen hunger strike to protest against the government.

Earlier, at noon, some tension occurred at the site of the ruling party convention which took place at Sofia Tech Park. A group of young and strong boys provoked some fighting during the conference. In a statement released later the ruling part GERB rejected allegations of any links to the incident.

After the end of the event protesters blocked the road trying to stop cars of GERB members and supporters. Police reacted dividing the group of protesters into two thus clearing the way to delegates. They were let to drive out under shouts "Resignation".

Protests continue to take place across the country. Police in the town of Haskovo announced Wednesday morning there were no arrests after the blockade on Maritsa motorway last night. On Tuesday, at around 11.20 pm the blockade was lifted and traffic to and from Turkey restored.

Anti-government demonstrations in the country entered their 28th day. Protesters'camps are still blocking three of the key intersections in the capital Sofia. People vow to continue with the disobedience as long as their demands are met.

Corruption and alledged mafia style of government have blown up public discontent in Bulgaria.
