Record investments of BGN 7 billion in the Bulgarian economy reported by the Minister of Innovation

A procedure for the introduction of innovations in Bulgarian enterprises is currently underway, which will enable the production of high-tech products and the offering of new services.

"By introducing innovations, Bulgarian businesses will develop in the future and define their competitiveness models," the Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoicheva said in Varna on January 9.

She added that in this way not only big businesses but also small entrepreneurs will find the right opportunity for development. Through innovation, both people and the country's intellectual potential will be invested in.

According to the minister, this is the only way for the Bulgarian economy to become competitive and compare with the most developed countries of the European Union. She added that research and development, in the age of technology in which we live, is the basis for the development of the knowledge economy. The process of interaction between science and business needs to be accelerated and therefore this year significant financial resources and opportunities for applying for such projects have been earmarked.

Minister Stoycheva also highlighted the record investments in the Bulgarian economy last year, which amounted to over BGN 7 billion, of which over BGN 600,000 in innovative technologies. She expressed hope that this year the investments will double.

Milena Stoycheva was in Varna for a meeting with the local authorities, business representatives and higher education institutions in the city to identify the directions and technologies for the development and economic growth of the region.
