Russia declares a Bulgarian diplomat as persona non-grata

Bulgaria’s ambassador in Moscow, Atanas Krastin, was invited to a meeting in the Russian Foreign Ministry on May 26 and was notified that one employee of the Bulgarian embassy in the Russian capital was declared persona non grata., Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry said .

Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a media statement that the step was a response “to the decision on April 29 this year by Bulgarian authorities to declare a diplomat from the Russian embassy as persona non-grata for actions incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
