So far, 38 detained for vote-buying ahead of Bulgaria’s two-in-one elections

38 people were detained under investigation for buying votes and more than 2700 were issued warnings, according to the results of inspections conducted by the Ministry of Interior.

108 pre-trial proceedings have been opened so far. The minister's conclusion is that apparently some parties have not given up the practice of vote-buying.

The caretaker Minister of Interior, Boyko Rashkov, announced that no violations were found in connection with the voting machines and defined the allegations of abuse as speculation. According to him, there is no danger of abusing voting machines outside the warehouse.

The machines were delivered through Greece, we did not find any abuses. I don't know why there is all this panic from some parties, Rashkov added.

The organisation of transport of the machines for the elections will start today, November 12.
