Sofia introduces curfew on restaurants and bars between 1st and 12th of November

The restaurants and drinking establishments in Sofia will be open until 11.30 pm according to the order of the Minister of Health, the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, wrote in a post on Facebook on October 30.

The measure is aimed at limiting the spread of Covid-19 and will be in force until November 12.

The proposal to limit the working hours of all establishments comes from the branch organizations. Inspections by the police and the capital's health inspectorate last night found working nightclubs and attempts to circumvent the restrictions, the mayor explained.

The inspections will continue in the coming days, and the order to limit working hours will take effect on November 1 by a decision of the Sofia Operational Headquarters. The goal is the branch to continue working in conditions of with additional control and discipline, and only the places where physical distance is impossible will remain closed.

As of yesterday, 1,048 new cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in Sofia. It is worrying that the number of hospitalized patients is increasing - from 449 on October 28 to 532 on October 30. The number of patients in need of intensive care treatment is also increasing.

Therefore, I again call on everyone to observe the measures, Fandakova appealed. Wear a mask indoors, keep your distance, wash your hands with soap and water.

The inspections of the teams of the municipality, the police and the health inspection continue. For the past 7 days they have drawn up 260 warning protocols, 75 acts for violations of the Health Act and 820 members of the public with imposed quarantine have been checked, summarizes the Mayor of Sofia.
