Sofia Mayor: The first of 29 new trams is on its way to Sofia

The first of the 29 new trams, planned to be delivered this and next year is already on its way to Sofia. The new trams are part of the efforts to modernise public transport and cleaner air measures, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova wrote on Facebook on November 14.

"Thanks to savings made on the project, we are buying 4 more trams in addition to the initially agreed 25.”

Our plans are to run them on lines 4, 5 and 18. Starting tomorrow, we are also launching two new express bus service routes. They are lines 109 and 110 and will connect "Buxton" and "Lozenets" with the Business Park in Mladost resiential district," Fandakova also wrote.
