Sofia moves off the list of regions with highest Covid-19 case incidence
More than 12,000 people recovered from COVID-19 last week. Sofia is moving out of the list of regions with the highest morbidity. The medical establishments are provided with the necessary medicines and protective clothing. The national vaccination plan is being prepared. This emerged from the working meeting of the members of the cabinet convened by Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on November 30.
The Minister of Health, Kostadin Angelov, also stressed that after the introduction of the extended anti-epidemic measures, last week, 12,070 people recovered.
He added that Sofia is moving off the list of districts with the highest Covid-19 morbidity - with more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 people. Only two districts remain in this group - Gabrovo and Kyustendil.
There is also a reduction in the pressure on the health care system, and in Sofia it was quite serious. At national level, full provision of personal protective clothing, disinfectants and medicines is provided and as Remdesivir medicine is available for every Bulgarian patient who may need it.
Prime Minister Borissov ordered the vaccination plan to be drawn up as soon as possible, stressing that vaccines are voluntary and free-of-charge for Bulgarian citizens. The vaccination is considered to start with risk groups and front-line workers.
