The Enthronement of the new Bulgarian Patriarch has begun (photos)
The enthronement ceremony of the newly elected Bulgarian Patriarch Daniei began at the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia. Metropolitan Daniel of Vidin was elected the new Patriarch of Bulgaria by the Patriarchal Electoral Assembly on June 30.
During the ceremony, the new Patriarch will receive the crozier of the first Bulgarian patriarch following the restoration of the Bulgarian Patriarchate by Patriarch Cyril. Additionally, Patriarch Daniil will receive the engolpia, which show Jesus Christ, the Mother of God, and the Holy Cross. These sacred items also belonged to Patriarch Cyril and were crafted by an Armenian goldsmith from Plovdiv.

President Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana YIotova will participate in the entthronement ceremony of the newly elected Bulgarian Patriarch at the Patriarchal Cathedral "St. Alexander Nevsky". During the ceremony, the President will deliver a welcoming address.
In front of the Monument to the Unknown Soldier, the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Rumen Radev will receive the honorary formation of the representative units of the National Guard, after which a ritual of raising the national flag will take place. The Head of State and His Holiness the newly elected Bulgarian Patriarch will lay wreaths and pay their respects at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier, after which a solemn march of the representative units of the National Guard will take place.
