THE IDENTITY OF SARAFOVO SUICIDE BOMBER REVEALED

The identity of the suicide bomber from the bus bombing at Sarafovo airport has been revealed. On July 18, 2012, a bomb exploded in a bus with Israeli tourists just arriving for their vacation in the Bulgarian coastal city of Bourgas. The blast killed five Israeli citizens, a Bulgarian bus driver and over 30 people were injured.

The perpetrator is Mohamad Hassan El Husseini. His identity is confirmed through a DNA analysis and other investigative procedures, the statement of the Bulgarian Prosecutor’s Office says.

The attacker had a fake driving license registered under the name of Jacques Felipe Martin. El Hussein was born in Lebanon in 1989. He had Lebanese and French citizenship.

According to the investigative authorities he was a member of the group involved in the attack and acted together with the previously identified Meliad Farah and Hassan Al-Hajj Hassan, who were also involved in the attack.

It is known that relatives and friends of Husseini published praises in the social networks about his death in the role of a ‘martyr’, the investigators said.
