Third consecutive month of deflation reported by National Statistical Institute.
The National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported a third consecutive month of deflation. Monthly inflation for June is minus 0.2%.The year-on-year inflation rate for June stood at 2.5%, NSI said on July 15.
Inflation is measured by the CPI, with monthly inflation for June 2024 relative to the previous month and annual inflation for June 2024 relative to the same month of the previous year.
In June 2024, the largest price reductions are in the groups:
"Communications" (minus 1.5%)
"Clothing and footwear" (minus 1.2%)
"Transport" (minus 0.9%)
"Food and non-alcoholic beverages" (minus 0.5%).
The largest increase was recorded in the groups:
"Restaurants and hotels" (+2.2%)
"Miscellaneous goods and services" (+0.4%)
"Entertainment and culture" (+0.3%)
"Healthcare" (+0.2%).
The prices of goods and services in the groups "Household furnishings, goods and services for the household and for the usual maintenance of the home", "Education", "Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels" and "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products" remained unchanged.
