Three antique amphoras discovered during repairs of Summer Theatre in Rousse
Three amphoras were discovered during the renovation of the Summer Theatre at the Military Club in the Northern Bulgarian city of Rousse.
One is completely preserved. According to archaeologists, it dates from the 5th century and was used to store wine. The other two amphoras are in pieces and archaeologists are currently trying to assemble them.
The discovery was made during rescue excavations of the Roman fortress "Sexaginta Prista". Archaeologists have also found 100 bronze coins, as well as the remains of two residential buildings
