From April 16th to April 22nd, Traffic Police will carry out a specialized speed control operation. It is set on the calendar of the European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL) and such operations will be conducted on the territory of all member states, the Ministry of Interior announced.
The aim is to reduce road accidents caused by fast driving. Within the operation, the Traffic Police teams will be deployed in settlements, main roads, mtorways and non-primary roads and will mainly monitor speed.
Chief inspector Rossen Rapchev from Traffic Police explains that the operation is planned and is not related to the road accidents from the recent days. Other measures will be undertaken in connection with the road accidents, he added. Control will be conducted exclusively on all main roads and motorways, on which there will be very serious police presence. Police teams will also regulate traffic at places with congestions, he said.
